They are obviously friends and there is a warmth in their relationship that really comes across on the recordings. I really enjoy this podcast, not least because both of the boys (Yaro being Canadian/ Aussie and Walter being a Brit) have voices that are very easy to listen to. You get a LOT of great book recommendations by listening to podcasts! I see that John Lee Dumas has also interviewed Adam, so I'll be checking that one out - different interviewers get different answers, so it's always worth listening to more than one interview of the same person. I was so gripped I sat in my car for a good 15 minutes after I arrived at my destination because I wanted to hear the end of the story. I had to fight back a tear at that point. He was inspired by a young indian beggar boy who, when asked what he wanted most in all the world, answers 'a pencil. Essentially, Adam was going to be an investment banker but is now running a fast expanding charity breaking ground on over 200 schools a year for poverty stricken youngsters.

This morning I was listening to Derek Halpern interviewing Adam Braun who started 'Pencils Of Promise' and has just written the book of the same name. The latter is not a very good strategy though, because I either end up staying awake listening longer than I should, or going to sleep too soon and having to listen to the same podcast over and over! Unusually for someone so visual, I'm listening to a lot of podcasts at the moment, when I'm at the gym, when I'm cooking, and when I'm trying to go to sleep earlier.
